Louisa Brandt

Most of what shows up between two people, the distance, the same argument on repeat, the slow fading of closeness, is rarely about communication skills alone. It usually goes back to how each of you learned to do closeness, trust and vulnerability, long before you ever met.

My work is grounded in psychological research and clinical training: attachment theory, relational systems thinking, emotional regulation, and current relationship science, including the Gottman Method. It stays practical and down to earth, with no therapy jargon, no blame, and no self-optimization talk.

How I work

First we see the pattern clearly. Then we work with it.

I don't treat a relationship as a problem to be fixed. I treat it as something alive, full of tensions worth understanding: closeness and freedom, safety and desire, strength and softness.

Most of us were never shown how to hold those tensions, so under stress we fall back on what we learned early. We push harder, we go quiet, or we reach for control, usually without meaning to.

The work begins by making that visible. Together we look at how each of you responds when it matters most, and we build the capacity to stay present in closeness, in conflict, and in the responsibility that comes with both. Steady, honest relationships turn out to be one of the strongest things we have for our wellbeing. They lower daily stress, ease isolation, and help us recover when life gets hard.

This is the work.

  • Attachment patterns, and what first set them in motion
  • Staying steady when feelings run high
  • Repairing after a fight, not just avoiding the next one
  • Turning toward each other instead of away
  • Boundaries and responsibility that actually hold

This is not.

  • ×Quick fixes
  • ×Blame, or hunting for a culprit
  • ×Self-optimization
  • ×Performing vulnerability

Everything stays between us. Confidentiality holds from the very first message.

Relational capacity

The inner structure, in practice.

It isn’t one single skill, but a set of capacities: the inner ground that lets you stay present in closeness, conflict and desire at the same time. This is what we build, together.

Self-awareness

Seeing the patterns you learned long before this relationship, and how they surface under pressure.

Emotional regulation

Staying steady in charged moments, instead of flooding, escalating, or shutting down.

Honest conversation

Speaking so you can actually be heard, and listening for what sits beneath the words.

Roles & power

Seeing the dynamics you fall into together: who pursues, who withdraws, who holds control.

Boundaries & repair

Knowing where you end and the other begins, and how to find your way back after a rupture.

Intimacy & desire

Reconnecting emotional safety with physical closeness, at a pace that works for both of you.

Ready to understand your patterns?

You've seen how I work. A first conversation is where we turn that into your situation, together, and look at what a first step could be. No obligation, confidential throughout.
